summer lovin...

Ok, so while fall is my favorite season I'm really learning to appreciate summertime. I used to hate the heat and everything that came with summer but now that I'm a bit older, I've really started enjoying it! I have discovered that I really love being outside, working in the yard, going to baseball games and so much more!
Some of my favorite things of summer are...

The smell of freshly mowed grass

Edy's Coconut fruit bars (these things are amazing!)

Berries & other fresh fruits (I really love all of the colors)

A nice summer rain that cools things down

...and these are a few of my favorite things. I also love cookouts, delicious cold drinks, homemade ice cream, fireworks, sitting outside after dark and so many more.
What are your favorite things about summer???

great find...

My bff Christie went shopping at garage sales this last weekend and I had her keep an eye out for wood end tables that I could sand down and repaint. She found a deal!! 2 solid wood tables for $20. I had her snatch them up for me. I was so excited to go home Saturday and see them on my front porch!!
Last night I decided it was time to do the makeover. I took the tables to the front yard and painted them black. I love the distressed look on a few furniture pieces that I've seen so I thought I'd try my hand at it. I think they turned out pretty good, don't you? All it took was a bit of paint and a few pieces of sandpaper and viola!
Check them out...

Cute, huh!?!?! ...don't mind the mess surrounding the table.

take me out to the ballgame

This last weekend Tyler's baseball team played in a tournament for Relay for Life. As far as I know, all of the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. A cause that I very strongly think is worth supporting. We had a blast and the boys played so hard! Us parents were all so proud of how hard they played and their great attitudes. They were all just flat worn out by midnight Saturday but they still played their little hearts out!
In the end we were the runner ups but still, had a wonderful time.
Go Jays!!!

Batter up!
First....

Home (called back)...
Heading home again...
Score! Back to the dugout...
Granny and GrayLynne showing their support and Papa cheering from the fence...
Zack was there cheering his buddy on!What a long day!! Christie was there for the first 2 games but I didn't get a picture of her. :(
So very proud of the Jays! One more tournament next weekend. It's the end of season tournament and then we are done for the season. Going to to hate to see it go.
So thankful to be a baseball mom!!!
